Completing The Tofes 101

You need to complete the tofes 101 before you begin your employment with Workknot and each subsequent January. But what is the purpose of this form? Think of it as part of your contract, as it ensures that you receive all the tax benefits to which you are entitled and the right amount of tax credits show up in your payslip.


Below, we outline each section of the form and provide guidance on how to fill it out correctly.



Overview of the Tofes 101 Form

Section א (Employer Information) – This section must will completed by the Workknot office, you don't need to do anything here.


Section ב (Employee Information) – Here, you will provide your personal details, including your teduat zehut number, date of birth, date of aliyah, current address, gender, marital status, residency information, and other relevant contact details.


Section ג (Information About Children Aged 0-19) – In this section, you can list your children under 19, as each child may provide you with additional tax credits. We recommend copying from your sefach (the printed paper which accompanies your TZ).


Section ד (Earnings from Workknot) – Here, specify the nature of your employment with the current employer—whether it’s full-time or hourly and the date that you started or will start your employment with Workknot.


Section ה (Income from Other Jobs) – For most people, you need to check the first box indicating you don't have additional active earned income (other salaried/hourly positions).


If you work additional jobs simultaneously while working for Workknot, you must declare your income from these positions to the tax authorities. If you have an additional source of income, indicate the type and whether you receive tax credits from that employer.


Section ו (Spouse Information) – If you are married, complete this sections regarding your spouse and his/her income.


Section ז (Changes During the Tax Year) – This is not relevant in most cases. If you have changes to your family status (newborn children) or marriage, please contact the Workknot team.


Section ח (Request for Tax Exemptions or Refunds) – Here, you can request tax exemptions by checking relevant boxes that apply to your situation. Ensure that you provide necessary documentation as needed. Here is the direct translation for this section since the Hebrew is a bit challenging:


(Check all that apply.)


1 – I am an Israeli citizen.

2a – I have 100% disability. I am 100% blind. (If so, you must attach confirmation from Bituach Leumi.)

2b – I receive monthly disability payments or monthly payments as a recognized terror victim. (If so, you must attach confirmation from Bituach Leumi.)

3 – I live in a town that has an extra tax credit.

4 – I am a new oleh/olah from the date of ________. (you must send your teudat oleh) I did not have income in Israel from the start of the tax year until the date of _______.

5 – My spouse does not work and hasn’t earned any income this year. (This is only relevant if you or your spouse are at retirement age or `you declared a disability in part two above.)

6 – I am a single parent with custody of my children and receive kitzbat yeladim.

7 – The tax credits I receive for my children in my custody [listed in Section ג] have changed. (Here you mark if you had a new baby this year, have a child turning one or two this year, a child turning 3, a child turning 4 or 5, a child turning 6-17, or a child turning 18.)

8 – The tax credits for my children not listed in section ג have changed. (The changes are the same as the ones above in question 7). This is only relevant single parents.

9 – I am my child's or children's only parent.

10 – I have children who are not in my custody for whom I pay child support. (These children should be listed in Section ג above.)

11 – I am a parent of ___ child(ren) under the age of 19 with disabilities and receive Bituach Leumi benefits for them. (Include documentation from Bituach Leumi.)

12 – I am remarried and paying child support to my ex-spouse.

13 – I am or my spouse is between the ages of 16 to 18.

14 – I recently finished my military or national service. Insert the dates.

15 – I recently completed an academic degree. Send tofes 119 which can be found here.

16 – I served ___ days of reserve duty in the last tax year. Send the army form.


Section ט (Request for Tax Coordination) – This section is where you can request coordination of taxes between your current employment and any other jobs. We recommend doing this in the gov.il portal which can be found here.


Section י (Declaration) – Conclude by signing this declaration to confirm the accuracy of your provided information and commit to notifying your employer of any future changes.
